THE ART OF THE STILL
A film can take two hours to tell a story. A photograph has a fraction of a second. On why the still image still matters.

One frame, whole story
A good still holds a before and an after. The viewer finishes the scene in their own mind, and that is why it stays with them.
Time to look
A photograph does not move on. It lets you return, notice, and change your mind about what you saw.
Restraint
Stillness asks for decisions. Where to stand, when to press, what to leave out.
Why we keep making them
Because the images people remember are rarely the loudest ones.
